We finally made it into the recording studio. This was something we had been meaning to do for a while. Soon, you will finally be able to hear The Rum Syndicate online, instead of just at shows!
Mimi was an absolute sack of nerves going in. She researched to death what it would all entail and walked in with her Throat Coat and song charts. Apparently, all that nervous energy paid off, as she did most of her bass tracks in one take!
Tommy was a natural. No nerves. Let’s get it done.
Wyatt was the most prepared of us as he has recorded before and knew what to expect going in. It didn’t hurt that we had rehearsed the songs 1,376 times before our recording date.
We recorded at Underground Sounds in Tampa, and Bob (sounds engineer/owner) was the consummate professional, walking us through everything and helping us get the best takes possible. The studio was so beautiful, to boot. Clean, organized, and with all the latest gear. If we ever do this again, it will be with Underground Sounds.
The first song to be released will be “The Tiki Hut Song”… super creative- we know. That will be released on the first day of summer, June 20th, for all your beach and poolside listening pleasure.
